In case anyone was still confused about this, The Statue is definitely Taweret. Michael, in a comment after the finale, linked us to The Official Recap, which named Taweret. But I know many people still doubted the Statue’s identity. I say that the mystery is solved now because Doc Jensen posted the same link. Therefore, if it was a typo or a mistake on ABC’s end then it should have been caught that that point.

After some hardcore commenting after the finale, and a lot of thought I’ve finally come to the conclusion that Juliet isn’t dead. Don’t get too excited, I have no proof, I have some ideas but no real proof. First I want to talk about Juliet.
This theory isn’t actually very foreign. It was proposed by a reader of this blog, Parisa. You can read her comment here.
What she proposes is that when Locke turned the Frozen Donkey Wheel in episode 505 – This Place is Death, that caused an earthquake. Miles actually mentioned an earthquake, I had completely forgotten about that. If you’ll recall when Locke turns the wheel, our group is on the Island at a time when the Statue is still standing. The only other time we’ve seen that statue standing is in the opening scene of 516 – The Incident. It’s very possible that those two scenes happened at the exact same time. And let’s all suspend our disbelief for a second and remind ourselves that this is Lost, that kind of coincidence isn’t out of the ordinary.
So the point of all that was to show that Locke turning the Wheel was likely the cause of the statue to fall.
But the theories not over yet. Parisa next says that turning the Wheel also caused the Island to move and possibly scoop up a certain ship that we saw floating in the water near the Island. The next time we see the Black Rock (assuming that the ship is the Black Rock) it was in the middle of the jungle.
That’s a very tidy little theory, and I found it extremely convincing.

I especially like this theory from JOpinionated (via DocArzt) because I too think that Ilana is a god. I don’t have the required knowledge of Egyptian mythology to name her like JOpinionated did, but I mostly agree with what he has to say.

(Just to clarify, I think that Ilana is a god, or if not a god she is a spirit being like Jacob, although less powerful. I don’t really care whether she’s Sekhmet or some other unnamed god, I doubt they’ll ever talk about the Egyptian gods by name in the show.)

Did you guys see this? I heard nothing about this until today. This is a teaser for the final season of Lost. Apparently it aired after the finale.

Let’s try to analyze those 13 seconds.
First of all, the words seem to be made of some kind of cloud, that’s all I can see back there. It’s definitely the same footage over and over again when they change the words. That doesn’t really tell me much. Perhaps they’re hinting at a hydrogen bomb explosion.
The eye, now there’s something real. I think everyone is going to think that the eye is Jack. We’ve seen that scene with Jack twice now. But I think it could be Juliet. Watch it again…. see what I mean. I may be grasping at straws.

Hello everyone. So Season 5 is over, what do we do now? Keep on blogging, of course. I have a new blog to tell y’all about, it’s called Lost Questions, and it was recently created by a frequent commenter from this blog, Chris K (now his name is LostQuestions for obvious reasons). I am thrilled for Chris, this is the same way that I started my blog last year (at about this time). Blogging is a great way to get through the hiatus.
Last year, as you may know, I wrote revlysis‘ for all the episodes from Season 1 to Season 4. It was a lot of fun, but also extremely exhausting. I would love to do that again this year, but I’m not going to (that would be three episodes a week from June to January, that hurts my life).
This year I’m going to continue theorizing and blogging but not full-time like last year. I want to post a lot more Foreign Theories this year, I’ve been slacking. And I want to keep on doing Good vs. Evil posts, they are surprisingly popular. I also want to do some more vague predictions about how I think the show will end for each of the characters, kinda like character study theories.
If anyone has any suggestions for what they want me to write about feel free to comment below. We have about eight months before season 6 so I’ll take any suggestions.

So that was fun(ish).
I’ll try to start on a positive note. Jacob was awesome! Who knew he would be so likable. I kinda expected him to be quite distant and cold. But he was great. And that storyline that they started with Jacob and his nemesis was pretty epic. It’ll make for some great conflict next year (provided history isn’t erased, hahaha). New “Locke” is going to make for a very interesting villain.
That was a pretty epic reveal. It was all for shock value, it didn’t serve any real purpose except to confirm our suspicions about this new “Locke”. But really, it surprised me, and really raised the bar.
Uh oh I’m running out of nice things to say. Damnit, why did Juliet have to die? I’m back to having no one left to like anymore. This is going to be season 1 all over again. The only people I like are guest stars.
The flashbacks in this episode were slightly interesting, but they didn’t really hold my attention. The two good ones were Hurley’s and Ilana’s. The other ones were just filler. (Especially Juliet’s, what the hell was that?)
The one thing about this episode that I liked was the discovery of this new part of the story with Jacob, his nemesis and that new world. That will give me a lot of fodder for theorizing over the break. I could live without the rest of the episode. So where does that leave us? How much should I give the finale that I was almost completely unimpressed with? It can’t be less that 5, that’s not giving Jacob enough credit. but it’s definitely not more that 8.0. I’d say 7.0/10.0 A disappointing end to an epic season. (Jump to the bottom for more discussion on the score, I know many of you will be surprised/pissed about the score.)
How is Season 5 going to end? As we draw closer to the finale that is the question on everyone’s mind.
I’ve had many mini theories about the ending during the season , I’ve discarded most of them. I must admit that I knew pretty far in advance what the episode was called, “The Incident”, so that was a big hint. I remember thinking very early on in the season that the it would end with the Oceanic 6 coming back, the skipping stopping and a big reunion. This season moved way faster than I expected, I was completely shocked when the Oceanic “6” came to the Island in episode six. After Jughead aired I expected the season to end with a large hydrogen bomb going off. I discarded that theory an episode after Jughead (and apparently that was too soon). After that I just got caught up in the story.
So here we are. The finale starts tomorrow, what do we think will happen? Will Jack change the past by blowing up Jughead? Will Locke kill Jacob? Will the Third Party succeed in it’s…plan? Will Sawyer and Juliet get off the Island and live happily ever after? Will anyone die? What will the cliffhanger be? What will season 6 look like?
