Here are all the winners from last nights Emmy Awards. Some good: Michael Emerson, Glenn Close, 30 Rock, 30 Rock, 30 Rock and 30 Rock. Some bad: Bryan Cranston, John Cryer, Cherry Jones. (Here are my predictions and a list of the nominees, in case you care: 2009 Emmy Nominees.)
Drama
Drama Series
Mad Men
Not a huge surprise here. Mad Men is the new Sopranos, it’s going to get many awards for a long time. Lost was nominated, but it didn’t really stand much of a chance. Hopefully next year it will win for it’s final season.
Lead Actor In A Drama Series
Breaking Bad • Bryan Cranston, as Walter White
Well that was unexpected. I was very unhappy to see Bryan Cranston win again. I just really don’t like that show.
Lead Actress In A Drama Series
Damages • Glenn Close, as Patty Hewes
Aaawsooome. Glenn Close totally deserves this. Patty Hewes is an insanely good character.

Supporting Actor In A Drama Series
Lost • Michael Emerson, as Ben Linus
And the best award of the night goes to Ben. Michael Emerson needed this award. It would have been a crime if Terry O’Quinn had an Emmy and Michael Emerson didn’t
I have to say that his speech was rather dull. Usually I find him incredibly entertaining, but he was extremely low key. And I kinda wanted him to give Terry O’Quinn a shout out.
Supporting Actress In A Drama Series
24 • Cherry Jones, as President Allison Taylor
This was wierd. Who’s voting for 24 at the Emmys? Elizabeth Mitchell should have been nominated.
Guest Actor In A Drama Series
Rescue Me • Michael J. Fox, as Dwight
I saw this one coming. There’s no way that anyone is going to beat Michael J. Fox.
Guest Actress In A Drama Series
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit • Ellen Burstyn, as Bernadette Stabler
Writing for a Drama Series
Mad Men • The Jet Set
Lost could have won this episode, I think it actually stood a pretty good chance.
Directing For A Drama Series
ER • And In The End
That’s a nice send-off for ER.
Casting For A Drama Series
True Blood
Now that I’ve actually started watching True Blood I agree with this award. I still think Damages casting is amazing though.
Comedy
Comedy Series
30 Rock
Of course 30 Rock won. And did you hear what Tina Fey said when she got on stage? “That was a nail-biter.” I couldn’t tell whether she was honestly nervous or she was being cocky. Everyone else knew she was going to win, surely she knew too.
Who voted for Family Guy? Are you serious?
Lead Actor In A Comedy Series
30 Rock • Alec Baldwin, as Jack Donaghy
Yay! How could Alec Baldwin not win? He’s an amazing actor, and he’s finally got a role that lets him be as funny as he actually is.
Lead Actress In A Comedy Series
United States Of Tara • Toni Collette, as Tara Gregson
I love Tina Fey (and Mary Louise Parker, and Sarah Silverman), but Toni Collette deserved this more, I admit it.
Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series
Two And A Half Men • John Cryer, as Alan Harper
John Cryer!?! JOHN CRYER!?!?!?! Finally we get Jeremy Piven out of this category and now we give it to John Cryer! Good god.
Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series
Pushing Daisies Kristin Chenoweth, as Olive Snook
She’s as cute as a button, how could she not win. Honestly though, this was a great way to start off the night, reminding people how great Pushing Daisies was.
Writing for a Comedy Series
30 Rock • Reunion
30 Rock had almost all the nominations in this category, but they won for their best episode. Reunion was just too funny.
Directing For A Comedy Series
The Office • Stress Relief
That episode was pretty hilarious, I’ll admit it. I would rather have seen 30 Rock win, but that was possibly the funniest Office opening ever.
Casting For A Comedy Series
30 Rock
You really can’t beat the 30 Rock casting. The Weeds casting has always been good, but it’s never stood out to me. United States of Tara was pretty good, but a lot of it rests on Toni Collette and the writing.
Guest Actor In A Comedy Series
Saturday Night Live • Host: Justin Timberlake • Justin Timberlake, as Various Characters
Justin Timberlake is probably the best host in recent years. Alec Baldwin’s always good but Justin Timberlake is just glorious.
Guest Actress In A Comedy Series
Saturday Night Live • Presidential Bash 2008 • Tina Fey, as Governor Sarah Palin (Spoof)
How could Tina not win, it’s very possible that these guest appearances changed the election results (maybe a few percentage points in New York and California).
Variety, Music Or Comedy Series
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
Poor Mr. Colbert, always coming in second.
