507 Ratings

Here are the Nielsen ratings for the last episode of Lost:

507 – The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham

9.82  million viewers

4.4/11  18-49 viewers

I see a trend, every second episode gets less than ratings.  Not coincidentally every second episode is a mythologically driven episode.  That’s been the formula since season 4.  So the general public doesn’t seem to approve of the mythological episodes.  How sad.

There’s more to it than that. You have to see what it’s going up against. When the 504 episode aired, it got between 11 and 12. the next week, 505, went up against American Idol and dropped down to 9. Week after, 506, no American Idol, goes back up to 11ish. This week, 507, American Idol is on, drops back down in the 9’s.

Ooooh, I tend to ignore the FOX schedule. That’s really not bad then. As long as the viewers come back it’s not so bad.
I just hope that none of the people who read this blog are watching American Idol live and watching Lost later, that would be depressing.
