What Lost Looks Like to Non-Viewers

EW.com found this hilarious video on Newsweek where they get these confused people who have never seen Lost before and show them a clipshow.  It’s not quite a previously on Lost, it shows some of the crazier scenes and doesn’t explain anything.  But it’s very entertaining to see their reactions to it.  Apparently Sawyer “looks like Fabio” and Ben “looks like a pedophile”.

Check it out here.

WOOOAH, IZI – Stop the damn press!!

I was watching that video thinking “ha, these guys know nothing… oh wait, good call on the polar bears… oh WHAT THE HECK WHY DIDN’T I NOTICE THAT?!?!”

    Let’s see:

    – Season 6: We have one timeline where the Island people, who have been jumping through time because Ben turned the FD Wheel, are ON the island in 2007 and things are okay and ABOVE water.
    – Season 6: We have one timeline where the Island people, who are experiencing ANOTHER timeline, are OFF the island in 2004 (we assume) and things are crazy because THE ISLAND IS UNDERWATER.

    – Season 4: Ben has to make the Island disappear, so he turns the FD Wheel and the Island disappears.. as if it has SUNK into the water.

What if the Frozen Donkey Wheel has some kinda of connection to not just moving physically (transporting Ben/Locke into the desert) and moving in time (Daniel’s experiments), but also in moving dimensions (to one where the Island is underwater perhaps)?

Loose theory… but wow, there is something I didn’t notice before, so thanks 🙂 also that video is pretty funny, I should do this in real life with Lost virgins 😀 I wonder what scenes I would include in my “Best Of”? Perhaps that could be a future question in our email circle.

I might have misunderstood you, but I want to figure this out. Your saying that if they turn the FDW again it might transport into the other timeline. It’s possible, but I would expect the Lost writers would want to create a new mechanism to move through dimensions (some kind of magic box… yeah I have a theory I haven’t written about the magic box).

Yeah, I’m thinking, basically (I haven’t thought this all the way through though, remember):

There is one timeline where the Island has been sunk underwater at some point. Call this Island #2. This is the timeline we are seeing the now, with happy Hurley, Jack’s lost coffin and everyone landing in LA X, in 2004.

There is another timeline where the Island is above water = Island #1, our original Island. In 2004, Oceanic 815 crashes onto Island #1, but flies right over Island #2.

Now, several months later, around the start of 2005, some Island #1 inhabitants make it off the Island, and Ben turns the Frozen Donkey Wheel. This causes Island #1 and Island #2 to SWITCH PLACES – Island #1 (including Locke, Richard, Miles, Daniel, etc) is now above water in the timeline where Oceanic 815 lands safely in LA X. Island #2 is now underwater in the timeline where the Oceanic 6 are going off-island, giving the impression of the Island disappearing.

So, in 2007, Ajira 316 is flying back to where the Island #2 is underwater. Here is where I get confused, because I still don’t understand WHY Jack etc went back in time while Sun etc didn’t.

OK, OK, I get it. It’s an awesome theory, but I think they purposefully showed us in one single shot that Jack was flying over the underwater Island. The camera goes out his window and zooms down underwater and past the underwater Island.

        In September 2004.

The Donkey Wheel didn’t get turned until, say, December 2004/January 2005. I think, in the alternate universe, the Island suddenly pops up and our Losties find their way there… perhaps.

I’m betting that I’m 12% sure this will happen, 88% sure that it wont 🙂

This video was a riot! Thank you.
They got some surprising things right – maybe they should start watching.
