617 – The End – Miles

On the Island

I guess Miles deserves to leave the Island.  For the last three years he ‘s probably been as bored with himself as we were with him.  He’d probably have the easiest time out of anyone getting back into society.  And he still had Sawyer, maybe they’d create a private detective agency… that would be an awesome show!!!  Miles talks to the dead victim (Pushing Daisies style), and Sawyer cons the perps.  And we’ve seen how great the writers are at creating cons.  If they were allowed to create this, I think it would be awesome.

Oh yeah, and Miles has a bunch of diamonds to sell, so there’s that.

-Miles directly acknowledged his own grey hair.  That was weird.  Every once in a while I think that it’s just a trick of the light.  The actor is 40, so I guess it’s okay, but besides the greys he still looks like he’s 20-something.

Off the Island

Single people weren’t really invited to the church thing, well except Locke and Christian (UPDATE: Boone was there too, so my theory is pretty weak).  So apparently Miles didn’t flash on anyone.  And who could he flash on?  Apparently Sawyer didn’t do it for him, he didn’t actually see them onscreen, but I presume he met with his Dad and Charlotte recently.  Maybe Daniel, or Frank?  Who knows.

I was never bored with Miles and I am absolutely psyched he, Frank and Richard got off the island. I will miss Miles’ snark, awesome one-liners and his logical, in-your-face reasoning. I’m a bit disappointed he didn’t get a centric this season and I was hoping his powers would be explained or at leat well-utilized but still, glad he was around for so long. ❤ Ken Leung 🙂

Yeah, I liked Miles, but the writers created a superhero then tried their best to ignore his powers. He never really got to use them for anything important. On an Island full of dead people who we want to hear from, you would think he might have some more to say. It’s by no means Ken Leung’s fault, he did great.

I was fairly surprised that Miles had virtually no presence in the flash-sideways/afterlife during the finale. He showed up to the shindig, saw Sayid, called Sawyer, and that’s about it. Luckily, we got more Miles Time on the island.

    or beds their wives!!!

I was constantly disappointed that Miles didn’t get to use his ‘powers’. I loved his sass talk though.

Maybe he still needs to connect with his Father? He was kind of whiny/dismissive of his “concert-benefit thingy” as he called it.
Just a thought — if it was Sawyer or Hurley then…he is sol…

I think Miles had his own daddy issues to overcome, so he’ll move on later, not with the main bulk of the Losties, whose time together on the Island was the pivotal time in their lives.

Same goes for Daniel, Charlotte, and anyone else who wasn’t at the church in the end.

And Ben was close … but he still wasn’t quite ready to move on. I think he still needs to work through issues with Daniell & Alex. Plus, he has a LOT to atone for.

Also, I would TOTALLY watch the Sawyer/Miles cop/detective/whatever show!

I think everyone is in agreement that Miles should have used his power more, and why did the writers even give him that only to downplay it.
He was quite entertaining however, and I really enjoyed his friendship with Sawyer. They were good friends, and perhaps they really did go on to being cop partners off island. He’ll flash when he’s ready. (maybe Ben will be the catalyst) 😉
